Summative: Teacher will use the identifying theme worksheet to confirm if students mastered determining what a theme is with an 80% accuracy. Teacher will go around asking probing questions to see if the students are mastering the lesson. Assessment Formative Teacher will walk around and make sure students are filling out their worksheets correctly. One on one support will be available from teacher. Teacher will work closely with them to make sure they are on task. Students with Other Special Needs: Students with special needs will get the help they need. Translation dictionaries and word wall will be available. They will have more time to complete their work. ![]() EL: Teacher will provide EL students with worksheets in their native language as needed. They will discuss the theme of the chosen book. Gifted and Talented: These students will have the opportunity to choose a more advanced book. Be sure that you provide content specific accommodations that help to meet a variety of learning needs. Students will join class discussion -Students will answer the teacher questions of what the theme of the story is. Teacher will ask students what they think the theme of the story is and why. Teacher will hand out identifying theme worksheet. Students will answer what they think the theme book on their own. Students will ask questions regarding power point. Students will listen and watch presentation. Students will answer what a theme is -Students will watch video. Teacher will then play a fun video on YouTube explaining what a theme of a story is. Teacher will call on students to answer.
